fmisery + college applications and future plans

So yea, Deadlines coming up for college applications -_-
I have no idea what I want to do, don't even know which course i want to take.. or which country i want to go to..(stay in england or go back to america)
I can narrow it down to Fashion Design, or Illustration. Everyone keeps telling me to do Fashion, kind of assuming that's what i want to do because of the way i dress -_- but i want to do both of them equally..
I can't write personal statements for applications if i can't even decide what course i want to take..
I probably should be taking a year off, but thats one option i really want to avoid.
I enjoy both Fashion and Illustration, but i just can't see myself doing it for an actual living, the art world is just too competitive
anyways, thats my rant, somthing thats been on my mind for ages(- -) any suggestions/opinions/comments would be appreciated
